Ana Caram (born October 1, 1958) is a Brazilian singer, guitarist and flutist best known for her bossa nova music.[1] Caram was born in São Paulo to a family versed in musical expression. She graduated from São Paulo University with a degree in musical composition and conducting. A protégé of Antonio Carlos Jobim,[2] the primary developer of the bossa nova style, Caram’s own is a blend of Brazilian Bossa nova and American Jazz.[3] Her voice elicits comparison with that of Astrud Gilberto.[4]

In 1996, Caram contributed “Water to Drink” to the AIDS-Benefit Album Red Hot + Rio produced by the Red Hot Organization.

In the liner notes to Six String Evolution, Oberg states that the date features songs that fit his style - My opinion, of his style? He burns tastefully with a Bebop-singe over many genres. The material is diverse, featuring archtop, electric fusion and nylon string guitar-work on a variety of jazz and pop tunes. One of the many great things about the CD is that, even with the changes in instrumentation and style, there is a continuity of thought and vibe that make it easy to listen from beginning to end. Sadly, Oberg’s chops make me contemplate using my L-5 for firewood…He’s soooo good!

Andreas Oberg’s “Six String Evolution” CD features a host of fine players including Oberg on electric and acoustic guitars plus vocals on “Papa Gato” (penned by L.A.‘s own Poncho Sanchez).
