Doreen Shaffer - Jamaica
Doreen Shaffer is the ‘Queen Of Jamaica Ska’, an original member of the Skatalites since 1994 who has enchanted the audiences not only with her duets with the late Jackie Opel and her own singles. Her appearances with the veterans of Ska nowadays are still highly acclaimed spots at every Skatalites show.

The collaboration with her led to not only to a European tour in 1997 where she was backed by Dr. Ring-Ding & the Senior Allstars, but also to the album ‘Adorable’ on Grover Records.

On this longplayer, Doreen Shaffer presents new compositions, accomplished Reggae adaptations of songs out of the genre, and Ska favourites of the sixties that all get a special flavour through her uncomparably warm and sensitive voice.

And now for the great news: in june 2005 she will finally return to european stages, accompanied by The Stingers ATX.
