Lulo Reinhardt will bring his inspiring gypsy music to The Caravan for the first time.

The much-anticipated new album by Lulo Reinhardt, Katoomba Birds, has finally been released. Recorded in Australia, the album features Lulo’s highly acclaimed international band, who form the Latin Swing Project and features Daniel Weltlinger on violin; Sean Mackenzie on piano, thumb piano and berimbau; Harald Becher on bass; and Uli Kramer on drums.

Lulo Reinhardt is widely regarded as the foremost authentic and distinctive musical voice in Gypsy music today. Not only does he come from an incredible musical lineage; Lulo is the great-nephew of world-famous musician extraordinaire Django Reinhardt; Lulo has also cultivated his own unique musical genius. Through a life devoted to music, he has honed his talent into an inimitable style that absorbs all of his musical passions; from the flourish and fire of flamenco, to the intricate arrangements of Latin and Brazilian jazz, the sound of Lulo Reinhardt is woven together on a tapestry of Gypsy magic. The result is a musical dexterity that appears effortless but at the same time leaves the audience breathless. “The audience sometimes expects me to play exclusively in the style of Django Reinhardt, but I have found a style of my own, and I’m happy and grateful that the people love it,” he says. And love it they certainly do. After establishing himself as a star all over Europe and the US, Lulo toured for the first time across Australia in 2008. He found a receptive and excited audience, and after the first successful tour released the CD and DVD “Lulo Reinhardt Live in Melbourne.” Wanting to absorb the inspiration he felt from the great land down under, he committed to his next recording project “Katoomba Birds” at INRok Studios in Sydney. The album showcases Lulo’s current musical journey on 11 exceptional tracks (listed below).
