Guitarist and founding member of Pearl Django, Neil Andersson, has left Pearl Django. Guitarist, Troy Chapman, founder of the group Billet-deux, has joined Pearl Django. Neil, will still perform, just not as often as in the past. His group with Peter Pendras, Malibu Manouche, has released a new CD, As the Crow Flies. Neil will also be spending more time painting. You can see his paintings at Neil Andersson.

Systeme D is the tenth Pearl Django release and introduces our new guitarist, Troy Chapman. This CD is dedicated to Neil Andersson, who has retired from Pearl Django after 16 years. This CD is available at our performances, at our web site and some stores. Downloads are available at Amazon and will soon be available elsewhere.

What it means:
Système D is a reference to the French word débrouillard. To be débrouillard is to be creatively resourceful, quick thinking and adaptable in response to challenges. The term has the connotation of getting around the established system, of bending or breaking the rules and of being successful against all odds. Consequently, using système D is problem solving in just such a manner.
